Berkshire House

The design for this contemporary extension to a charming period home projects a beautiful marriage of old and new and accomplishes much needed functionality with added square footage.  In addition to growing their ground floor kitchen and dining area, the clients asked for a dedicated utility space and seamless transition into the garden.  The striking glass wall that we introduced along the length of the dining area affords beautiful views to the outdoors and much needed summer shade via a tri-folding solar screen built of anodised aluminium and copper slats.  The projecting flat roof and Portland stonework detailing of the utility area are the perfect compliment to this lovely old-meets-new composition.
