The owners of this detached home in the leafy Surrey suburb of Carshalton Beeches commissioned us to enlarge the living spaces and provide them with a contemporary home for them to live and work, and raise their children.  Internally, we have created an open and functional flexible kitchen/diner that can be equally enjoyed by the small family that live here as well as by a large group of friends and extended family for special occasions. We have visually connected the entire ground floor while still providing the opportunity for quiet areas of solitude, and have dealt with the varying levels both internally and externally in a rational and practical way. The house looks and feels brand new, but also sits comfortably alongside it’s older neighbours as a result its traditional materials. Our contemporary, yet subtle palette of buff brickwork, rich timber, champagne aluminium and off-white render will provide this old house with a fresh facelift, creating a beautiful place that the clients can call home for years to come.
